Lauren Faust

Lauren Faust, the creator of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, will be attending Nightmare Nights 2017!

Lauren Faust was the showrunner for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, developing it and taking it to production, but has a long history in children’s animation before that. As an animator, she worked on Cats Don’t Dance, The Magic Sword: Quest for Camelot, The Iron Giant, and Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends. She gave The Powerpuff Girls life as animation director, contributing to dozens of its episodes and making it a landmark animated series.

After Friendship is Magic, Lauren helped to create Super Best Friends Forever, write and produce Wander Over Yonder, and design the characters behind the video game Them’s Fightin’ Herds. She’s currently working on DC Super Hero Girls, and is an inspiration to girls and young animators everywhere.


Elley-Ray Hennessy

Elley-Ray Hennessy is an award-winning, international dynamo of theatre, film, tv and radio! You’ve heard her as the voice of Mistmane in season 7 of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, but she has a decades-long career in acting. A friend to all things creative, Elley just finished shooting the new tv series The Carter Files playing author Charlotte Khyber; was recently nominated for the 2017 Dora Mavor Moore Awards for Best Actress for her performance of Margaret Thatcher in The Death of Mrs Gandhi; shot an 8-part mini series in Russia (which went to the  2017 Cannes Film Festival) called Insomnia; shot a feature film called Blood Honey which opened as part of The 2017 Toronto Film Festival; as well as recording the voice of Bubbles Beiderbaum for the upcoming Cat in the Hat Halloween Special with Martin Short; she also voiced the new animated feature film called Tabaluga playing Mythia the dragon; and is the narrator of a new television series called Guilty Rich.  Elley juried the 2017 Daytime Emmy’s for Best Voice and currently teaches voice at the University of Windsor (where she received an Honorary Doctorate of Laws for her contribution to Humanities and the Arts), Voiceworx, Theatre Ontario (whose board she sits on), Livingston Studios and MCS Studios as well as teaching and speaking internationally. Aside from her role as Mistmane in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Elley currently voices characters on The Bagel and Becky Show, The Wide World of Wandering Wenda, Little Charmers, Camp Lake Bottom and Cyber Chase to name but a few. She is publishing her second book of inspirations called Fly With Eagles after the first in the triptych called Butterfly Kisses, with Salt River Publishing. Elley believes in Magic!

Tony Fleecs

Tony Fleecs is the illustrator of dozens of variant covers of the My Little Pony comics. Comic fans may recognize his other work on comics of Miraculous: Adventures of Ladybug and Cat Noir, Grumpy Cat, Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures, and his own work Jeff Steinberg: Champion of Earth. His comics have been published by Random House, Image Comics, Silent Devil Productions, Boom!, IDW and Terminal Press. He lives and works in North Hollywood, CA. His mother says he is handsome.

Nick Confalone

Nick Confalone has written for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic from season 5 on, writing episodes like Party PoopedDungeons & Discords, and Rock Solid Friendship. Aside from his work on MLP, Nick has written for shows like Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil, Johnny Test, Littlest Pet Shop, Future-Worm!, and more. When he’s not writing animation shows, he’s remembering the glory days of Vine with 50 million loops of videos of his kids, and writing books about helicopters.


Jim “Big Jim Miller”

Jim ‘Big Jim’ Miller is a storyboard artist, cartoonist, director and improviser living in Vancouver, BC, Canada. He has worked primarily as a storyboard artist, most notably for 10 years at A.K.A. Cartoon Inc. on Cartoon Network’s Ed, Edd n’ Eddy, where he was a part of all 5 seasons, the 3 holiday specials and the TV movie. He has also done storyboard work on Kid Vs. Kat, Capcom’s Dead Rising 3, and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. After starting on MLP, he has since moved on to storyboard supervising seasons 2 and 3 of that series, as well as the Equestria Girls movie. Season 4 of MLP saw Jim promoted to co-director.

Shannon Chan-Kent

Shannon Chan-Kent is a Canadian voice actress, singer and dancer. From My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Shannon is the voice of Silver Spoon and the singing voice of Pinkie Pie. She’s also the voice of Whittany and Brittany Biskit and Youngmee Song on Littlest Pet Shop, the speaking voice of Cherry Jam in Strawberry Shortcake’s Berry Bitty Adventures, the voice of Joy Pepper in Superbook, the voice of Chief in Pucca, the English voice of Misa Amane in Death Note, and Janet in Spectacular!.

In addition to her voice acting career, she is also an opera singer (Soprano), having graduated with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Opera at the University of British Columbia. Shannon has performed with the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra as well as with local theater productions.

Andrea Libman

Andrea Libman is a Leo-nominated actress who has worked as a voice over actor for more than twenty years. You know her as the voice of Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy, but you’ve undoubtedly heard her voice in other places. She has had roles on numerous animated TV series, including the title role of Madeline in Madeline and The New Adventures of Madeline, Emmy in DragonTales, young AndrAIa in Reboot, and Cathy in Monster Buster Club. Recently, she’s voiced the characters of Lemon Meringue, and Pupcake and Princess Berrykin in Strawberry Shortcake’s Berry Bitty Adventures. Upcoming projects include Maya the Bee and Pac-Man: The Adventure Begins.

Andrea teaches and plays the piano and enjoys running, skiing and snowboarding, yoga and volunteer work. She holds her Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of British Columbia.

G. M. Berrow

We’re thrilled to have author and screenwriter G. M. Berrow returning to Nightmare Nights 2017! This year marks her fourth appearance at Nightmare Nights, an academy record, and we’re excited to have her back to share her writing experiences and party with all of you this October!

The author of many of the My Little Pony chapter books, Gillian has started writing episodes of Friendship is Magic with the season five episode The One Where Pinkie Pie Knows and season seven’s Fluttershy Leans In. She’s spent many years ghostwriting for other children/young adult novels, as well as working in television production for shows like The Good Wife and Law & Order: SVU.

M. A. Larson

Noted walking signature machine, occasional episode writer, and novel author M. A. Larson will be returning to Nightmare Nights for the fourth time! He joins fellow writer G. M. Berrow as one of the only Guests of Honor to attend four times. We’re so excited to welcome M. A. Larson back, as I assume are the hotel bartenders.

M. A. Larson has written for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic since the start of the show, responsible for episodes like Swarm of the Century, Sonic Rainboom, Luna Eclipsed, and that one where Twilight Sparkle got wings. He took over as story editor for the first half of season 5. He’s also written extensively for Littlest Pet Shop, and contributed to other shows such as Gravity Falls and My Gym Partner’s a Monkey. Mitch is currently finishing work on The Warrior Princess of Pennyroyal Academy, the third novel in his Pennyroyal Academy book series.
